So, I've always felt that I had a weak lower back. It wasn't until I've been working out a lot that I feel I've strengthened it and had less problems. I'm starting to realize that sometimes the lower pain i DO have in my back is from leaning forward while playing video games so long.

It made me realize that it's important to have good back support while playing video games, so from now on I'm going to sit in a comfortable chair, even if it makes me play worse. I feel like I always play better when I lean forward, lol, but I'll have to force myself not to.

LOL! I DO the SAME thing! I feel like my game won't be good if I dont have my back forward, sitting indian style, with my mouth wide open! :)

I sit very close to the screen at the same eye level in a wooden bar chair. It's uncomfortable as hell, but it's all I have. >.>

I vary. I either sit slightly above or slightly below my screen (depending on if I'm at school or not). I either lean back while sitting Indian style or sit in a chair with good back support.

Toward the end of high school (saying that makes me feel old :? ) I started having a lot of issues with my neck, shoulders, and back. My TV is on the wall above my desk, so I lean back in my chair to look up at it. My laptop is on the desk in front of me and I kind of hunch my shoulders when I'm working on it I guess. So because I had so much work to do on the computer for school-related things, I started getting really intense pain in my neck and shoulders that gave me a constant, massive headache.
Ever since I started doing Photoshop stuff (which requires a lotttt of computer time) I've had neck and shoulder pain and normally headaches as well from looking at the computer screen all the time. My shoulder and neck muscles are constantly tense because I carry my stress there. And sometimes I wonder if I'm making my vision worse by being on the computer for so long.

I think I'm almost starting to get used to the pain. ;|

Maverick, if NOTHING else, maybe you should get regular massages. Maybe once every other week or once a month. Specifically in the areas that you hurt. It seems that someone going for your profession (computer related) would benefit from that anyway from all the time spent sitting in front of the computer. Or maybe a really comfy chair with support and a different desk that you don't have to lean towards? PLEASE use the glare screen (know what I'm talking about?)

Ehm. Everything made sense until you said glare screen.

I use to have a glare screen and it just fits right over your computer screen to cut down on the glare to your eyes.

Well when I play I move one of my comfy chairs in the living room and place it directly in front of the TV. That way I'm about 4 or 5 feet from the TV when I sit back. I make sure that I have a big pillow behind my back. It helps me to sit up straight and provides support for my back.

I sit my leg length (approx) from my tv in a wooden kitchen chair. I then prop my feet up and lean back on the back legs of the chair. If I get to excited and kick I've been know to go over backwards. I once stood up and let the chair fall between my legs because I tipped during re-spawn. It was pretty funny.
Anyways...I also have bad eye strain from too much time on the pc. So I have to sit close to my tv in order to see the game clearly. I also have problems with my neck and shoulders. So I have to see a chiro regularly and I should get massages. I also need to get help with my vision, but I'm not sure if I want to sacrifice my playing time to let me eyes heal from lasik surgery. Lame I know, but gaming is my life.
So Maverick while you're young enough deal with these health issues.

I hurt at work.... like right now :(
mostly neck.... and it's cause I have two monitors... one is right in front of me and the other is to my left... looking at the one on the left puts strain on my neck from turning.
I was getting carpal tunnel there for a while... I had to retrain myself to use the mouse. It was a pain in the butt, but now my right wrist doesn't hurt anymore. :)
I haven't had too many back problems. I do when I sit in one place for too long. My Grandma was a big stickler on sitting up straight all-the-time. So I've been drilled to keep a good posture. That and concert practices. You have to sit a certain way to play the trumpet correctly. So I usually sit with my back straight, slightly off the back of the chair. - That is, when I'm not slumming... lol.

Indian style, on the bed, pillow in lap, leaning forward.
Not all that comfy.

Sitting is last century. I hover in front of my tv. Actually i have a gaming chair{low to ground and rocks(literally)} and i lean back and put my feet on my bed recliner style.

I moved my tv off my wall and it's eye level now, which my neck thanks me for.

It is, the chair isnt very soft but it offers great neck and back suppport for long game sessions.
