DSO is considering the option of expanding our divisions to include a PC division. Please vote in the poll, so we can get things rolling!
Most likely, the 1st game offered for this division will be World of Warcraft.

I personally wouldn't play. But I totally support DSO having a PC division. :horns:

Possibly, I can play Counter Strike 1.6 if anyone else plays that. My computer can't play new games and unfortunately I retired from WoW back in 2005.

I have World of Warcraft. Had a level 50, don't know what happened. Haven't played in 9 months.

you are dead to anything IRL
and sad fact is...anyone how knows what IRL is...is also dead to it :(

Because you can respawn in video games but not real life. You also can't shoot people or steal their cars without getting punished in real life.
I'm not going to vote because I don't have the necessary equipment to be able to play games on my computer. Photoshop is already weighing my poor laptop down. :[ Plus, with going to college, WoW would be a very very bad idea...

FEAR on PC is free for multiplayer
http://www.joinfear.com/main
this is a good way to gauge the abilities of your comp on a gaming level; its moderately taxing to a PC; if you have any brand name video card (other than Intel intergrated extreme) and a computer made after 2005; you *should* be able to run it ok; and if you can play this; you can play any of the other games ppl have mentioned on here with no problems

While I don't have a computer that can run any right now, I hope to get one sometime in the next few months.
I'd like:
CounterStrike
StarCraft (1 and 2 when released)
Diablo 2 (and 2 when released)
and more that I can't think of right now (I had a list in my mind...)

I am a big fan of WoW. I'd probably only show interest if it was Alliance side, as I have 2 level 70 characters. One is a warrior (who can be either Tank or DPS easily), and a priest (that I have been playing as holy/discipline spec).
I also have Steam and wouldn't mind getting into CS, Team Fortress 2, etc.

WoW is tough to get into professionally, or even semi-casually. It requires ALOT of time to get a character leveled (experienced, fast players can do it in 2 weeks) and TONS more to get good PvP gear (I'm talking months). The most common competition format is 3v3 arena. Blizzard does custom servers where you just pick a toon and poof it's 70 with a bank full of gear you can pick from, but without having a group of people practicing on the same server together, it's pointless.
SC is even harder to get into. The Koreans have a monopoly on SC. Afterall, it is the national sport. If you want to play competitively, you need to train like a Korean...8-10 hours a day.
COD4, TF2, and DotA are all very big competition games that are easy to learn, and you don't have to spend tons of time getting ready to THINK about getting hardcore. DotA is not PC intensive as it runs on the Warcraft 3 engine which most comps built after 2000 can handle easily. COD4 and TF2 are fairly intense as far as computer power goes. I get decent fps (frames per second) with my 2 year old rig, but I couldn't see playing on anything much older/more gimp (no offense to you Pentium 3 gamers out there).
GOOD NEWS! upgrading our building a new rig is not as expensive as one would think. Sure you can go to Dell or Alienware and spend $3k+, but if you know how to do it, you can build a nice rig for ~$1000 (and it's a NICE comp). I priced one out for Ladyluck today that was $1071 which had:
Asus P5N-D mobo (Yes its a Quad core mobo, but still supports dual core)
Pentium Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz
4GB DDR2-1066
XFX GeForce 9800XT OC 512MB PCI-E 2.0
2x 400GB Western Digital HDDs @ 7200rpms each w/16MB buffer
Nice Thermaltake case with Power supply
You can add other things if you dont have em like CD/DVD drives which are about $30 each. Keeping in mind this is also a VERY good rig. You could widdle down the specs to $800.
Sorry for the rant! I <3 PCs.
P.S - I'm enlisting in the Navy tomorrow, so I'll be gone tonight and tomorrow. Cya when I get back!

Is there a way to play WarCraft as a division? Not WoW but the regular game. I used to play that a few years ago, addicted really. I loved it. I haven't played in years though...
that's really the only pc game I have experience in... so if that were in a division, I would be much more interested.

DotA would be a lot more accessible for people than World of Warcraft, and potentially less addictive too. WoW is a HUGE timesink, even if you only wanted to raid casually let alone get geared enough to PvP competitively. That being said, I'm happy to transfer my current level 70s over to a new server if a WoW division opens.

Alliance fer me.
70 Fury DPS Warrior (who can easily be swapped to tank for whatever the need is)
70 Holy/Disc Priest
My soon-to-be 70 Shaman (currently level 60), I'm not quite sure what spec I wanna go. I have my warrior as melee dps, so I prolly go elemental when I hit 70.

I've never liked horde... no offense ;) ... I usually play Undead or Elves. Every now and then I'll play humans. Or... at least I used to...
I like the undead so much just cause of the little food houses (I forget what they're called) and how they shoot at people. Sweetness.... and on the Elves... I always get a massive army of Hypogriffs. lol. they're the bomb.
I need to dust that game off and play it again... It's been so long... I miss it. :(
