I am looking forward to MGS4 very much. I wasn't a huge fan of the previous MGS games but 4 is supposed to be different. Kojima said that Gears of War greatly influenced him while making MGS4.

My friend Tom is just as obsessed with this game as you are, Jess. So I'll prolly let him buy and it and then just play it at his house.

that game is going to rock face. I loved the first one, loved the second one's gameplay but hated the story, and didn't play much of the third one but this one looks ridiculously awesome.

So far, I don't like the online gameplay from the thingy that's currently released. It makes about zero sense.

Uhm no. I don't have to play the other games to know that he movements make sense when you're playing the story or whatever cos they're slow and stuff- but for faster-paced multiplayer online stuff? Nope.

I agree with you Knight, the 2nd's gameplay was **** near perfect but the story took a major hit when it flipped to Raiden (which btw Kojima, you need to be socked in the jewels for that move).
I loved the first MGS, heck I played it so much I got Solid Snake in a Tuxedo and the new uniform for my personal favorite video game character of all time Grey Fox (see my avatar). Also, making the choice whether or not to let Meryl die was always a tough one (torture chamber) I definitely had to have my friend help me beat it on the toughest difficulty. (My thumbs were not meant to be abused like that!) Active Camo > Bandana ;)
For any of you guys who missed out on MGS1 on the PS1, you should definitely pick up the remake Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes on Gamecube. It has all of the story from the first one w/ the amazing controls and graphics of MGS2. The Metal Gear Series is one of my favorites and Snake Eater was a ton of fun although I still have occasional nightmares of crawling through the grass at night and getting bit by snakes. I can't wait til MGS4 comes out.....although.....
....I don't have a PS3.
